Hello Quilters:
We wish everyone a great Valentine’s Day. The days are growing longer and it’s almost
Sugar Time.
We still have space in a few of the Winter Classes: Cactus Flower on February 16, Flower Power on
February 23, and Colorsplash on February 24. Classes will start up in the Fall after a summer
filled with quilt shows and retreats.
Fabric Just In
New fabric received includes: Ramblings from P&B
Textiles, Cuddle-Prints flannels from Fabri-Quilt, Jinny Beyer’s Renaissance
Garden and Debbie Beaves’ Lovely in Lavender from RJR Fabrics, and Storybook
Classics from Baum Textile Mills.
On January 26 and 27, Country Treasures hosted a
quilt-a-thon for Quilts of Valor. What
fun we had! Sue would like to thank all
the quilters who volunteered their time and talents: Patricia Lambert, Koren
Erskine, Joan Houghton, Beth Ezold, Jean Chatfield, Pat Cafarelli, Wanda
Rohloff, Tina Harns, Claire Pullinen, Mary Vredenburgh, Reggie Cote, Christina
Dyke, and Carolyn Niesuchouski. Lynn
Carrier from the QOV Foundation also participated. About twenty quilts were crafted during the
weekend: four finished quilts were donated, eight quilts were finished during
the weekend, and another eight quilts were mostly completed. Mary ironed the whole day and Sue cut;
together they managed to empty Sue’s bin of red, white and blue
scraps. Carolyn was upstairs trying to
machine quilt the quilts but there were so many sewing machines and irons going
downstairs the longarm machine wasn’t able to draw enough power to
function. Some quilters became
enthusiastic enough to volunteer for homework to finish some of the quilts. It was a lot of hard work, but fun and
satisfying. We plan to host another
quilt-a-thon.

Treasures is CLOSED ON MONDAYS.
Our hours remain the same on the other days: Tuesday through Saturday
10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 12 noon till 4 pm. Country Treasures will be open for Holiday
Mondays: President’s Day (February 18) and Memorial Day (May 27).
